    Temporary Leave

I have a very busy month or two ahead and am unsure how regularly I will be able to attend practices/matches. I will make every effort I can, when I am available, but all should count me out unless I can say otherwise.

Reason: I'm taking possession of my first home Wednesday! :D Which means I have to work my ass off re-doing floors, walls and the kitchen before my lease on my current place is up at the end of August.

I'm lucky to have about 3 weeks with the new house and the place I've been renting, before I actually move in. There is LOTS to do though, so I'm sure this month is going to just fly by.

I will be around, will be checking the site and can likely fill a roster in a pinch, but please don't count on my presence, unless specifically communicated. I assure you I will still play when I can, and will be back to full-duty once we're settled in the new home.

He's Canadian so the tax credits don't apply. Except for those he gets for thinning out the moose population.

                      Thanks fellas.

LMAO....wow, you guys watch too much South Park.

There are numerous tax credits on the go in Canada for renovations and energy efficiency improvements, I will be taking full advantage ;)

It's a lovely 3 bed 1.5 bath igloo on it's own ice float (no pesky neighbours). It's too cold for moose up here but the polar bears keep me company :p

Just wanted to give everyone an update.

We moved in this weekend (holy fack, am I sore). Now the fun of unpacking all the boxes and trying to organize the mess!

Sooooo much work still left to do, but things are coming along nicely and the house will feel like home soon.

Interesting story on my internet/cable. There is only one ISP in my area that is worth using, and they're well aware of the monopoly they're running. I called about 2 weeks ago to set up the appointment to have my cable installed. The "appointment" was for Saturday; and "all day" appointment as they call it, between 8am and 5pm! I emphasized several times during the call that there was a good chance I would not be at the house when the installer arrived, so I would really appreciate a call 5 or 10 minutes in advance so I could meet him there. The operator said she could make a note of it with my cell number, but couldn't guarantee the installer would have a cell phone to call me. I asked if she could give me a general idea of when the installer may be in my area, so I could plan to be at the house, if possible. She could not give me any time frame more specific than "between 8 and 5". Frustration begins

So it's 8:10am Saturday, just ate breakfast getting ready to head to the house. Cell phone rings, "Hi this is _____ Cable, I have an installer at your house and he is not getting an answer at the door." Me, "I specifically requested a call in advance so I could meet him there and was told you can't guarantee that because you don't know if he will have a cell phone. If you don't mind me asking, how did the installer get a hold of you to let you know there is no answer at the door?".....silence, operator "a cell phone, I guess." Frustration building

Me, "Okay, I can be there in 5 minutes, can you ask him to wait 5 minutes please?" Operator, "No problem, he can certainly wait 5 minutes"

Jump in my car, race over to the house, keeping my eyes peeled for any cable vans trying to escape (so I can flag him down, if necessary). I arrive at the house 6 minutes after getting off the phone, nobody there. Frustration continues to build.

I call the cable company back immediately and explain the situation. Operator tells me "you were his first appointment of the day, sorry he missed you, but he has to continue on with his work list and we will have to reschedule." Me, "So, you can see somewhere that I was first on the list?!? Why couldn't that information be shared with me? I was told 8-5 is the best information your company had?" Whatever, could continue with the ridiculous conversation, but you get the point.

So, the next appointment they had is for Wed. 8am to noon. I asked, do you have a similar time frame in the afternoon Wed? Operator, "No, but I do have an 'all day' appointment Wed." WTF?!?! "I'll take the 8 to noon, so I only have to waste 4 hours sitting around waiting, instead of 'all day'." Operator, "Would you like the installer to call in advance?" Me, "Would you like me to reach through this phone and rip your heart out, Temple of Doom style?!?!" Okay, so I didn't say that, but that's what I was thinking. I was civil about it, but clearly displeased.

Now I have to waste a half day's vacation waiting around for these ass clowns to come install my cable.

In conclusion, I won't have internet back (except here @ work, shhhh) until Wed at the earliest. I'll be playing some Batman in my spare time until then. Can't wait to kill some people online again! Maybe that bitch operator will be on Socom :mass:

That's so funny because a similar thing is happening to me.

My ISP is switching to some new DSL technology. I didn't know this. I called tech support and after some stupid conversations they told me they had to send a technician. Fine, I said, but I told them if it was possible he could arrive between 10am and 4pm because I had to run some errands before and after those times. They said fine.

Sure enough, the technician arrived at 7:50am. Asswipes.
