Ok, I'm posting this on the Cantina because it'd be nice to hear from the Xbox crowd and because apart from being a Playstation gamer, I'm also a fan of RTS games on the PC.
Here is my list:
#1.- Starhawk (or Warhawk 2, or whatever it will be called): Developed by Lightbox Interactive, Starhawk, as fans have called it, will be the soul sequel to Warhawk. This game will be awesome. No videos, trailers, demos, or even concept art have been released, but if Starhawk is half of what Warhawk is, I just know it will be awesome.
#2.- Starcraft II: I'm a big fan of Starcraft. Almost every day for the past 4 years I have managed to sneak in a game of Starcraft or Starcraft: Broodwar. It's an addicting game made even more so by Battle.net. Seeing as how all trailers point to Starcraft II just being a Starcraft overhaul with no major changes, I WILL be getting this. 2010 will be the year of Starcraft II. For Aiur!
#3.- Gran Turismo 5: A Playstation exclusive and one of the big reasons I chose a PS3 over an Xbox360 (unfortunately, I was not aware of Forza ). Anyways, the videos look amazing and I think I'm gonna get one of those $300 dollar Logitech steering wheels. Also, this will be the first Gran Turismo game to feature the World Rally Championship, and I'm a big fan of that! WRC is real driving. Oh yeah, and NASCAR will make an appearance too . GT5 will also have an online 16-player mode that I'm looking forward to pwning (unless they're asian...). Ok, sorry if someone is asian here, but how come asians are such beastly drivers on video games and such sucky drivers in real life? :D I'm just joking, of course.
#4.- Project Vault 13 (aka the Fallout MMO): I'm also a Fallout nerd. I must've played Fallout & Fallout 2 to completion about 13 times each. I'm also a big Bethesda hater and want to murder them for what they did to my beloved franchise. That being said, rumor has it that Interplay is working on a top secret MMO based on the true Fallout canon. Unfortunately, Bethesda is being a bitch and might sue to get the Fallout MMO license. Nevertheless, Interplay will release a MMORPG set on a post-nuclear setting and that, my friends, is awesome.
#5.- Final Fantasy XIII: Ugh, I already know I'm not going to enjoy this game. The last Final Fantasy game that was done well was probably FFIX. If I weren't such a FF fanboy, this game wouldn't make the list. The only reason I'm putting it here is because the new Final Fantasy games are so easy they work as great anti-stressors. So yeah, this game will be my $60 console Tetris.
Honorable Mention - Napoleon: Total War: I love the Total War series. I've spent hours on Rome: Total War and my favorite so far has been Medieval II: Total War. It's so much fun to manipulate the Pope to call a crusade against yo' ass. Anyways, I haven't played Empire: Total War because my computer can't really handle it. This game is only an honorable mention because, well, it's the French... :D I'm joking again. It will be awesome to play against Napoleon.
So that pretty much describes what I'll be playing between 2010 - 2012. What is your top 5?
