Right, but as a software maker, I could drop the prices of my software if I wanted to sell more units. I realize the installed base issue, but if they are making money on all three systems, threatening to not support one is just thuggish greed. It's not like they were LOSING money on any console, just making more on one. By their own logic, they should not support 360 OR PS3, keep pumping out recycled titles for the Wii alone since the dev cost is the lowest and installed base is the highest, Hell, they could even recycle assets from GC days on there.

The current situation is like BP mandating Ford lower car prices so they can sell more oil. Activision is a force for negative change in the games industry as they currently exist. No innovation, recycled content, milking franchises to death (how many GH's this year?), and a complete lack of creativity in their games and DLC.

The standalone quality of COD6 will be recycled, but if that's what people want, then that's their right... I'm not going to support it. I bought COD4, and was amazed at how underwhelming it was as single player as all the reviews said "I'd poop my pants." Really? Hearing "Durkah Durkah Jihad" shouted by muppets with the AI of the third Gungan to the left in Episode I is not exactly thrilling combat, especially when I can throw a flashbang and walk 200 yards unscathed, and IF they hit me I can just hide and magically regen health, and that's on Veteran? Poop my pants, indeed. May as well be called "Gritty Edgy Shooter 4 starring Lance Uppercut". Trash. I guess the newest crappy shooter devoid of any personality is better than last years model... even if last year's model is two years old and gets First Rate reviews despite being a Third Rate game.

Also, in regards to movies being over/underlong I don't think length is much of an issue. More for the sake of more is not a good thing. No one in their right mind makes a comedy over 95 minutes. I think it applies to games as well. While COD's campaign's have always been short, I don't think that's a bad thing... they are supposed to be arcade experiences, and they are. If FF13 has a 4 hour single player mode, then there is a problem. The only flaw with RE4, in my opnion, was that it was just a tad too long... it's a delicate balance though, so not something I'll usually beat of a game for, unless it's just absurdly long or short...

Kill Bill is an example of length for the sake of length. Originally a 100 minute movie, but ballooned to be overlong and simply ridiculous because Tarantino is a self-parodying freak anymore, and then cut into two parts, neither of which are very good and end up being the most complete studies on plagiarism and hack filmmaking ever.

kill bill is a great example. I enjoyed them, and the studio was able to increase their revenues massively with modest increase in spend. It makes business sense. The video game business model is not that different in many regards.

We may wish we could get more value for our dollars, but so long as we pay for things the producers have a responsibility to their owners to keep as much value as they can. A delicate balance there between customers and investors.
You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

third Gungan to the left in Episode I
I remember the first time that quote was used. lol

In all honesty yes the COD campaigns are short and WaW just had you spawn in on Vetern with like 400 grenade indicators going off, thats just silly. MW2 is NOT about the campaign though I think its cool you get to chase guys on a snowmobile and shoot them. MW2 is about the multiplayer. YES, it sucks that they say hey we are gonna have 3 DLC packs. But guys some of the DLC will be for the SWAT style mini game that is on the disc. Instead of Zombies we get missions similar or in the style of the prologue from COD4. So Keyser rent it from Blockbuster and at least give it a try. Believe me I hate Activision too they are putting our like 5 GHs, if you include Band Hero, this year. But guess what as much as I love AC/DC they have been recyling the same damn three chords for 30+ years and they still rock my fucking face off!! Its about money Keyser and they know they can make it. They are the Clear Channel of video games or maybe the Nickelback cause that band has been recycling the same crap for over a decade now. ANYWAYS here are my 5 games I am looking forward to:

          MW2
          Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
          Mass Effect 2
          Bioshock 2
          Fallout: New Vegas

I have given up on SWBF3. Its not happening.

Hang on a sec, LA knows that a huge fanbase wants the game out. They never did say the game wasn't coming, Thus the lack of news means that they are keeping the game under closed doors until they are confident about the games eventual release. It won't happen this year, It probably won't happen next year, But it may happen When they are done with it. FR is with Crytek now so we don't truly know the future of SWBF3.

All we know is that a trailer was leaked(Which possibly got that employee fired too), And it made more people eager for a game that wasn't even done yet. I'd be happier if they took their time working on this game then getting this game now. God knows SWBF1 & 2 had a shit fuck of issues in them that Pandemic fucked up on. Give it time, Eventually SWBF3 will happen just not now.

Like I said "They never said it wasn't coming", Can you imagine all of those angry fans? Yea Elite Squadron is suposedly gonna tie some of us PSP owners down in the mean time. They can't deny that we know about SWBF3 by now.

              Oh My top 5:

              Gotta think about it

                  Before Christmas:

                  1. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
                  2. Uncharted 2
                  3. Ratchet and Clank
                  4. Gran Turismo 5 ?
                  5. PSN Titles (Trine, PixelJunk Shooter, Turtles in Time, Zombie Apocalypse)

I'm on the fence about MW2, will likely rent, probably not purchase.

Is that gonna be an arcade port or a system port? I absolutely loved old skool side scrolling beat 'em ups. Turtles and the X-MEN were two of my all time favorites.

I loved those games as well, Streets of Rage and Double Dragon fall right in with those 2. It's an Arcade port. It's on XBLA currently (timed exclusive) and received so-so reviews. Every review complains about difficulty, but I'm glad they stayed true to how F'in impossible some of those games are, especially TMNT. No word on WHEN it's coming to PSN, but I've had my fingers crossed every Thursday for a surprise.

I wasn't expecting a makeover. Thats killer, I would have shelled out the dough (you like that) for the original sprites.
