Yeah you have to be careful here... depending on what state you are in...
I think in NC you have to be more careful... like warning them, giving them opportunity to escape, etc... we also just idiotically set it up where home invasions no longer qualify as a "3 strikes" type offense. Which is stupid, since most people who do home invasions start non-violent but eventually BECOME violent due to circumstances on one of their break-ins.
In AZ I don't know the law, but I know that particular area is FILLED with guns... you'd have to have a deathwish to be a burglar there, same with Texas or Florida.
Florida I think, had a crime rate so high that they lifted most restrictions on handguns, and the crime rate is dropping... not sure if it's due to states like mine trying to be a "home invasion magnet community" or from the mortality rate of their "cap a crook" policy... but I suspect it's somewhere in the middle.
