Yeah you have to be careful here... depending on what state you are in...

I think in NC you have to be more careful... like warning them, giving them opportunity to escape, etc... we also just idiotically set it up where home invasions no longer qualify as a "3 strikes" type offense. Which is stupid, since most people who do home invasions start non-violent but eventually BECOME violent due to circumstances on one of their break-ins.

In AZ I don't know the law, but I know that particular area is FILLED with guns... you'd have to have a deathwish to be a burglar there, same with Texas or Florida.

Florida I think, had a crime rate so high that they lifted most restrictions on handguns, and the crime rate is dropping... not sure if it's due to states like mine trying to be a "home invasion magnet community" or from the mortality rate of their "cap a crook" policy... but I suspect it's somewhere in the middle.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. ― Alexis de Tocqueville

Yeah I figure I'm breaking the law by having a machete in my car but I don't pull that out because dude is feeling froggy. That is in case there is some psycho killer or some MS13 (AKA Microsoft 1.3) gang members trying to get in my car.

I can reach it thru my back seats since they fold over. I also go camping and to the beach a lot so I could of just forgotten it was there. And as long as it's not hidden in the vehicle and I let the searching officers know it's there I can not be charged for having a concealed weapon.

When I was younger I presumed my fighting skills and ability to use anything as a weapon was enough for most scenarios. Now that my reflexes and strength are less, I feel less so.

When I was driving big trucks, it is firmly against the law to carry a firearm.

                    Period.

But since over the road drivers do carry a lot of money on them because fuel is sooo expensive, many of them do pack heat.

I asked one driver one time why he carried one even though it was plainly against the law. And he told me:

"I'd rather go to jail for having a gun and using it, than go to the funeral home for not having it."
His point was rather well taken by me. LOL!!!

Yeah, we got em here too. They're spreading like a virus. Now that the government started deporting them they have been spreading like McDonald's in 3rd world countries. Dollar menus on every block.

And while they are very violent they run in a business structure with a strict chain of command.

TX just changed the law last year. It was where you had to be in fear of your life, and try to escape before you could do anything. Now the law has changed and you do not have to do that. If someone get's in, or tries to get in, you can kill them.

The only thing I have are some big kitchen knives, and my deer hunting rifle lol. It's only a .243 but I gurantee it would scare the hell out of any burglar/intruder. Call me sick, but I don't think I would have any problem ending someones life who tries to break into my house, especially if my kids are with me.

I wasn't laughing at the German Shephard thing. I was laughing at the whole robber-getting-killed-by-a-nerdy-chem-student-with-sword thing. It sounds like a British comedy sketch.

And then I pictured the robber getting up and saying: "'tis nothing but a scratch."
                          Student> "But I killed you."

Would you then rip their stomach out and wear it as a hat?

What would you do next? Call the cops? Bury the body? Do tell!
