Sweet Crono I didn't know you were so close.

Rommel, what part of the world are you from and Where do you live now....I've lived in this country 20 something years. And while it may seem that this is the mentality of most American's. it is not.

I wouldn't want to take someones life it is not my way. But it is in my nature. I'd rather scare them or if having to defend myself I'd rather dis incapacitate but that isn't very logical. If someone has intentions of hurting or killing you they will do so. This is why police are trained to kill. 1,2 one in the head and two in the chest...I"m sure some have heard this come from police before.

Here in most states when defending yourself in your home and an assailant is coming at you and you kill them it would be considered self defense. But if you are inside your home and the perp is shot when attempting to flee it is considered murder or manslaughter. That individual would of been no longer a threat but you went ahead and killed him, you can be charged for that.

No one wants to kill anyone. We all just want our families to be safe and will do what it takes in that rare occasion that you can actually be effective.

@Rage...I don't know Rommel (ie. never played with him) but I perceived his posts more as stoking the fire for fun and to stimulate discussion rather than literally

also it is in all our nature..at least the propensity towards it. Look up the Milgram experiment (and if you think times have changed youtube the modern version done in Britain recently on a "game show") or Stanford Prison experiment or read a brief of Zimbardo's book Lucifer Effect. That is why I am going to become a buddhist monk (Mayahana way though):p

I'm sure that is what he is doing but I just wanted to clarify. Some people think this is a country full of gun totting rednecks....but that's only in the sound west and in Ratix neck of the woods.....ha JK :p

I didn't make it through the whole post, but in TX, there's the "Castle Doctorine". It says (more or less) that anyone in your house at night uninvited can be killed by you. You can shoot someone in the back if they are in your house at night.

I keep a glock 23 filled with frangible rounds for anyone in my apartment. My work gun is usually locked up unless I need it for conceal carry. There's a lot less paperwork if I use my glock for home defense...

@Rage: Yeah, what cmj said. I'm just teasing and playing. Of course I don't think Americans like to shoot people. Well, only in video games. :D

I didn't reply to your question because I thought it was rhetoric.

Well it's also in that thing in your brain... you are afraid to pull the trigger, but once you do it, most people will empty the gun, either because of the adrenaline, the fear of being shot in return, or wanting the situation to end completely.

I hope to never kill anyone
                  I have night vision goggles
and I have given serious thought to shutting off my power
and coming downstairs with them on and
ratcheting a slug into my 12 guage,
and commanding him to get face down,
                  if he has a weapon
or attempts to move toward me rather than away
I would blow him in half
if he complies I would cover him while calling the cops
the whole time I would have my spotlight in his face to keep him blinded and disoriented

                    just shoot him

if he's in your house, not supposed to be there whynot just shoot him and get it over with?

you might ask him what he's doing and why if you're up to it, then just shoot him.

"oh I was just trying to steal a little money so I could feed my family..." KAPLOW!

If someone enters your home and is a threat then you are better to kill him inside your home rather then just injure him and call police. If you do just injure him and call police then expect to get sued by the invadcer for everything you have, just kill the worthless fuck.

I may sound sadistic and maybe unhuman, but there are over 6 billion people in this world, nothing wrong with weeding out some of the bad ones.

If your religious that's okay too, ask for forgiveness and ye shall be forgiven. When your standing before St. Peter at those pearly gates your only going to have to explain one thing....that weekend you spent in Vegas, because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, LOL.

Well I just bought an FN .45 tactical. And I'm level 2 (of 4) certified in MACP (modern army combatives program which is mostly Brazilian ju jitsu) I'm a 6'2" 210lbs former infantry paratrooper, I'm pretty well versed in drunken brawling also. I wish a mother fucker would....
