Des really dude t and the song is really gay but clever. No disrespect. There are many things that people aren't going to like and companies are going to do what ever they want with the hardware they sell. It sucks. But you can disable them at least they give you the option.

I mean you no disrespect....but how about you send a very well prepared letter and mail it to them I bet with the sophistication that you have with words will at least be heard and make and impact. Or even better a petition.

For a bit of extra news I have heard down the grapevine that SONY would eventually like to make the Playstation console and OpenSource console. Which is a huge step for any company especially nutclamping SONY. Time will tell.

                Jaded..? heh.

One of my dearest friends actually called me "the great corruptor", that if you left the Pope alone with me for a few hours, when you came back in, I'd have him smoking, drinking waaay tooo much, and watching porn, and liking it.

I dunno if that's actually true.

But I've been on earth maybe too long.

Maybe I'm too smart for my own good.

My father drank waaaaaay too much, and I do think that affected me at a way too early stage.

                But bygones is bygones.

I've been through a great many things, and not all of them good. I'm required by law that I can talk about certain things, but not places, and names.

With the heart condition I've developed, I really do have to watch myself everyday, hence why Norm posted that. But I refuse to be ruled by fear.

As a person, even at a young age, I learned to HATE injustice. It's just my nature. I know life isn't, nor ever will be fair. But we as humans do make things worse through our own stupidity. And I've been forced over time to realise that's never, ever going to change. Ever. Humans refuse to evolve.

Even if we made every single person the same, people will always find excuses to hate other people. We have this inheirent desire to feel "better" than some other group of people.

My wife thinks that I may suffer from "post traumatic stress syndrome" and that's why I drink myself to sleep every night. And she may be right. I dunno.

But I do know that it's never wrong to defend those that cannot speak, or due to certain situations, to defend themselves.

I will always "fight the good fight" to the very end of my life. And Lord knows, that might even be tonight. The Lord will decide when it's time for my heart to give out finally. I live with this every single moment.

                But I have no regrets.

I will stand by human liberty every single moment I have. Until my very last breath on God's green earth.

Because I deserve it, and you deserve it. Everyone deserves it.

And if that means I have to stand against the "asshole" powers that be, then so be it.

I will give them Hell until they silence me for good.

So I've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting.

And still no fix after almost 6 months for Sony to fix the damn updates that have been bricking launch models. I would've thought by now, even if they diodn't legally want to admit it openly, that they would at least be kind enough by now to at least fix it "undercover".

3.0 bricked a lot of launch models. The new firmware re-writes the speed how the drives read the discs. Older models cannot handle it, and brick. Now we're at 3.15, and the problems are still the same for early models. Some have updated and had no problems. Others have had their Blu-Ray take a shit on them. Some have freezing issues. Some have just had their sound die on them.

But it is well known on the Sony forums, that Launch models don't like these new "mandatory" updates. I've read that if you update through a "hardline" like a new disc, or download it to a flash drive, that works fine. Just don't download it thru the internet on your PS3. It gets to 75%, and locks up. And then you're screwed. Some have said removing the drive and re-formating it works.

At this point I don't care anymore. I'm not going to go on a "anti-Sony" tirade right now, I'm just tired of not being able to get online with the damn thing, regardless of sparkles, fuck it, I can live with it. I just don't want to brick my shit.

Get online, it auto detects the damn update. Buy any new game, it auto detects the damn update. Buy any new Blu-Ray movie, it auto detects the damn update.

So Sony has offically fucked me from buying anything new, until I "update".

                        *Sighs*

Thank you Sony, I appreciate it. Really.

And if it does brick my shit, I get to send them $150.00 to fix it. Which I have to wonder, what exactly are they doing to "fix" the problem?. No one knows, because they aren't talking. Because if they did, they'd be legally nailed. But I do find it odd, that if these newest firmwares does brick my shit, they do have a "magical" fix for it, and send it back to me. Just without telling me what they did to "fix" it, in the first place.

Guys, trust me, I'm not being an asshole here. I just don't want to risk bricking a machine I paid well over $600.00 for, that now to this very day, works just fine. Really.

I'm not the asshole some of you think I am.

I just want to get back online, without ruining my shit...That's all.

Well, I can't today, I just got off work at 8:30pm.

What I find odd is that Sony is still insisting that the firmware updates has nothing to do with bricking PS3's. Okay. Fine. That's their answer.

                            But....

When customers have been sending off their machines to be "repaired", Sony won't tell them what they did, to "fix" them. If you're car broke down and you put it in the shop, and they called you and told you to come pick it up, and then told you the repair cost was $800.00, and you asked what was wrong with it, and how did they fix it, or what did they replace, would you accept an answer of "We can't tell you, just give us $800.00 please"?.

                            Of course not.

I can't see how this is legal. At all. You, as a customer should be able to demand a itemized list of repairs, of services rendered, for your money.

"We can't tell you", is not an acceptable answer. That fact alone smells funny.
If and when I do risk updating it, I'm going to record the whole thing, showing that it plays everything just fine. That way if it does brick, I'll have my proof right there.
Especially since Sony says it's not their firmware screwing machines, but others have concrete proof of their machines no longer reading discs thru the XMB, but then log out, and it plays discs just fine under Linux, on the exact same machine. Not the firmware my ass...
                            But alas, I digress.

I'm still going to wait a bit, and do some more research on which way is the "safest" to update to 3.15. And maybe place a call to Sony Tech support. (Now that should be "interesting", as Zabka and some others already know my temper with such chicken sweat, LOL!) If you actually see a mushroom cloud, you'll know I'm not "happy". There is an old saying..."Don't piss on my back, and tell me it's "raining". I'm far from stupid (well...), and I don't tolerate well at being lied to, especially if I know I'm being lied to.

People that know me IRL, know that I do not ever lie. (well, except if your wife asks you if that dress makes her look fat. I may be moral, but I'm not stupid. I do believe that God makes special exemptions on "trick" questions like that).

I don't mind updating my stuff to make it better. Notice I never once complained or fussed about any other updates, except these last ones.
If I download an "official" update from the maker of my hardware, I expect it to "work", not crash my shit, and then be told it's my fault, because I knew the "risks" involved. Granted, I'm not an idiot. I know that nothing's perfect out of the box, every time. Especially Compy software, with sooo many variables involved. To fix this issue with launch models, they would have to re-write the entire firmware code. But it's been 6 months now. C'mon Sony, stop droppin' the ball. Just fix the damn thing already.

Des, I know for a fact your aren't and asshole. So please stop saying that about yourself. You are a concerned customer who put a lot of money into a piece of technology that is supposed to work.

It's only right that Sony has hardware that works especially with updates that they are requiring the customer to download. All I can say is that I wish you the best when you do download the updates.
