    A renaissance

I feel this is "rant-able" and I haven't gone off on a good rant about video games in a while. We've been playing Modern Warfare 2 for a month. In that time, I can remember three times, and three, maybe four times only that a roomful of DSA have been in a room and lost because of a Tactical Nuke. The first week we got nuked twice, and I know we got nuked last Sunday on Terminal. I can't remember if that's all of it, but those three I remember very specifically.

So today I was hopping on and off MW2 because no matter what, I got placed in the room with people who are pants-on-head retarded. Bear in mind that the number of times I venture into a public room all by myself happens about as often as a Detroit Lions Super Bowl victory. But I just prestiged on Friday night, and I needed to get my level up there. The worst was that I didn't even have Blast Shield for the most part of my highly radioactive adventure through the public room. My day was spent losing many times, but there are a few maps that stand out.

Most of the losses, it was largely due to nobody on my team having a microphone, or just not using it, which I hate. One of the first few maps I play is Domination on Rundown. The map before that, my team got crushed and just barely did we kill a guy who was gunning for the nuke. So it puts me on the same team the next map, and I notice the same guy is going off on a streak. I track him down, but he kills me, so I shout out to everyone that he's going for the nuke, he's up in the hidey-place in the Cantina. No one replies. He gets a chopper gunner, we start to get dominated. I think at one point it was 140-27. It was bad. Not as bad as the nuke that ended the map. Actually, I take that back because I would have preferred a nuclear holocaust than having to play another round with my team.

So I try another room, and it's Domination on Highrise. I'm having a pretty damn good round. Getting my UAVs and Counter UAVs and just pissing people off on the left side of the map. And we have the team just beat. They couldn't get to any base. Somehow, and it could have only been to idiots, once again not communicating and running out into whatever the fuck they can find, one of the opposing team players gets a Harrier. I'm staying inside, trying to stay away from it, and the players are running out onto Bravo and not trying to shoot it down. Chopper gunner. Second verse, same as the first. Highrise becomes Highly radioactive. Endgame. I finished 18-6, two kills coming because I spawned outside when the chopper was out there, and one of course because of the nuke.

As if it couldn't get any worse, I try a different room, yet again. Now this team, I'll give them credit, people were talking. Sadly, it was some 8 year old who just kept killing himself. This I partially blame myself for because I entered the room at the end of a map and stayed in the room, saying to myself that I would back out if I was put on the same team as this dumbass. Then my ADD kicks in and I get distracted with the Patriots game, and by the time I flip back, the game's starting up. The bastard is on my team. He went 1-86. I swear. The two leaderboards I saw, the guy was probably 1-150. By this point, I'm losing nearly every match I get in, winning percentage dropping like a Phoenix-crate, I swear I was this close to just calling him every God damned name in the book. There were a couple of times I said somethings I should not have said, but if you're just gonna dick around like that, fuck you! Needless to say, we got decapitated so fast that we got a chance to hear our bodies tumble to the ground. After that I found a different room, and just said "forget about winning, I'm going to be like the other assholes on my team and just care about how I do". I'll get my kills, get my rank up, but if we lose, so be it. I gave up a map or two later.

Then I play with DSA tonight, and we play 10 rounds, maybe lose one or two. Amazing, isn't it. I don't know how the other group did, but our side was tearing it up. Funny what a little maturity, common sense, communication and giving a damn about the game can do. It's not skill. God knows I'm the furthest thing away from being an elite MW2 player.

In one afternoon, probably within 20 minutes of each other, I lose via tactical nuke. Overall, including today, I have lost 5 times because of the nuke. 40% of the holocaust happened in 20 minutes. For a moment, I was right back on Endor in March of 2005, clanless, and being the only one on my team trying to blow up the Shield Generator CP while teammates were doing flips 'n shit on speeder bikes and "."'s stealing AT-STs to teamkill people. At that time, I wondered "why do I give so much of a damn of whether we win or not when my teammates won't give the same much?"

So to everyone in this clan that reads it, and if those outside the clan read it as well, maybe someone can get fired enough to join this clan, even if you're just a public player who does play the game the right way, thank you for do giving a damn.

Ah yes......the SWBF days before joining a clan. It was pretty painful working together with people that didn't try to do much for the team. Sometimes it would be a race to the AT-AT, X-Wing or any nearest ship because everybody loved flying(And dying to the enemy) while we were losing command posts, And reinforcements.

This is one of the reasons I don't usually play MW2 online alone, Because I know I will have to deal with fools that only care about their own well being online. Glad I joined this clan, A group of unfied people that strive on teamwork, Communication, etc

I feel the same way, only I'm a part of the Warhawk division. Granted Warhawk is very unbalanced lately, and it's either complete noobs or the veterans. When joining a room you hope your on the vets side. As the noobs get all bases taken from them in the first 4-5 minutes of the game.

I was on some teams Saturday night with KG and we were just getting owned. All of the players on our team stayed at home base and wouldn't do anything. I guess they think that playing CTF is staying home and guarding the flag. It's very frustrating to say the least, but joining this clan has given the game a greater depth and it remains very fun.

Hell, I'm still only a cadet in the Warhawk faction. That doesn't mean anything though, playing with the guys on the Warhawk crew has been great. They are real team players and have great communication. Killing has never been so much fun. Even if we happen to be on opposite teams I know that I have some great competition. Also, I know that they are all very respectful. In a base rape situation they won't just target you because they know you are in game.

I can't wait to get into some matches with them all on my side. Whether we win, lose, or draw I know everyone will be putting forth a great effort and we will make the other team have a very difficult time.

Nice rant...I like the pants on head retarded statement..lol

I think it is a good reminder of why we joined and why we should continue to support all functions of our divisions even when new games come out!!

Just a video that expresses how nice it is to play with teamwork.

damn whats a team i just usually jump into a domination room with the intent that im going to have to do everything and get all the other bases id rather have it 6 on 1 than a group of easy kills
and i think ive got it pretty much so im undetectable by radar at all so i can easily run into their bases and set some c4 screw ur teamates destroy them all by yourself

For the life of me, I'll never understand why the general public buys these games, and then NOT play them the way they were intended to be played. Why buy and play a game that's based on teamwork, and then run off all the time and do your own "thing"?. Why..? What's the point of it?

That level of fustration is what led me to the DSA in the first place, waaaay back in battlefront1. Glitching, teamkiling..cheating..on a video game..?!!??? It just proved to me that whatever gaming system you use, there is a somewhat large majority that just enjoys being.....

              Assholes.

              Plain and simple.

The very fact that they had to invent domething like "Punkbuster" alone speaks volumes in itself. It's become that big of a problem.

Have I cheated in video games?....Hell yeah !!! there are sometimes very, very fustrating levels or bosses that are just brutal to beat. Offline that is.

Back on the PS2 I sure as Hell used my Codebreaker once and awhile to just get past hard as Hell levels on certain games, but never, ever online. Cheating on a game you own offline is one thing. Online, that's a completely different matter.

If someone cheats, glitches, or teamkilsl on an online game....or even just not use teamwork, that person is a complete ASSHOLE.

And ever notice that these types of people never ever do that kind of shit in real life in person? If you were at a bowling alley, and you went to throw your ball down the lane, and someone else took their ball and threw it down your lane and knocked all your pins down as you were drawing back..you'd soooo have their ass !!!

Imagine if these kinds of people played paintball, and the word was given and everyone on one side rushed out to nail the other team, and one person on their side started peppering everyone else on their team with paintballs??? They'd get a well deserved beat down.

Back in the early 90's I used to love getting online and playing real strategy games like Chess on Yahoo. But I quickly learned that when you started pwning them, rather than be decent and finish it out, once you had them, they'd quit the game in the middle of it.

Yes, winning is fun, but not if the price you pay is your own integrity. Kinda like playing Chess in real life, and the other person leaves for a moment, and you move your pieces. Yeah, you might win because of it, but to me winning is more rewarding to me because I did it the right way. It wasn't given, it was earned.

But on the other issue why people don't use teamwork on on teamwork based games just escapes me. I really don't understand it. But I've seen it on SWBF1, SWBF2, BFMC2, COD4, and that's just on the Playstation. God only knows how many people could talk about it on the X-Box with Halo, and so on.

Who wants to be the first loser in a game?, yeah, ya got a lot of kills, but overall, you lost. What fun, or thrill, is that?. Is your life so meaningless that you count your KDR for self worth? Even if you had to cheat, or cheat out your team by being a selfish player?

Defend that CP. Cover your teammates. Play fairly and honestly.

And that's why we're here instead of some other Clan. You may not always win, but at least you did play with teamwork, and Honor.

And that's why everyone here means so much to me.

              Integrity, Honor, and teamwork.

That's why the DSA will ALWAYS rule to me.

Because DSA members have respect. Not only for themselves, but for others.
So no matter what wins or losses we may have, we did it as honest, decent folk.

If you are a DSA member reading this, please pat yourself on the back. Because you ARE a better person. Period.

              RaTix understood this basic fact.:

It is better to lose with honor, than cheat to win.

We can always work together to get better and win, than dishonor everyone, and ourselves, and cheat to win.

It's better to win thru hardwork and teamwork.

Win or lose, the people in the DSA have personal Honor, respect for others, and respect for themselves. That's why no matter how many stupid games we may win or lose, the DSA will always, always be a better class of people.

Thank you for being here, because if you are here reading this, you are a better class of person. You have higher ideals besides just having "MadSkillz".

Any true DSA member, I salute you all. And I thank God to call you my brothers.

              Des.

Here's an example of what team work can do. Tonight. 7-8 DSA in the room at all times, and a potential recruit in Mosh Pit and then later, Ground War. It was somewhere between 24-26 wins. I joined, I think two maps into their winsteak so I don't think my record follows theirs.

Without. A. Loss. Team work was phenomenal, moral was mostly high up and we just dominated. There's no way else to say it. There were maps we'd fall behind early and then dominate the rest of the way, there were maps where we cruised the whole way few, and there were very few maps that it was a struggle to edge out a victory. And we weren't in "super-focused" mood. We were loose, we laughed, helped Blunt get a nuke on Terminal.

The other team... most of the time were, as Deslock put it, assholes. There were guys who weren't talking, kids up past their bed time, people calling us names, using the javelin glitch. And we owned. End of story. Good job.

Jeter, thank you for posting that.

Teamwork, and fellowship, will win everytime.

If you really care about the people you're playing with, you'll win every time.

We learned this in the real military. No matter what you feel about your buddy, cover his ass, and he'll cover yours. You have a common ground. That being DSA.

The DSA always, always takes the higher moral ground.

That's why I'm here, and always will be.
