I had an NCO get tiny chocolate bottles filled with liquor. I think we got more of a sugar high more than anything else.
"Thrawn: "Do you know the difference between an error and a mistake, Ensign?"
      Colclazure: "No, sir."
Thrawn: "Anyone can make an error, Ensign. But that error doesn't become a mistake until you refuse to correct it." [points at Pietersen, Rukh kills him] "Dispose of it. The error, Ensign, has now been corrected. You may begin training a replacement."

Ppl would get clear liquor, fill up the haji water bottles and sell em at 50 bucks for a 20oz. Expensive but worth it. I haven't been able to drink vodka since.

Spent the day at Arlington cemetery. Saw some people I haven't seen for a few years. Sad but beautiful place. Everyone should visit once.

Up in the morning out of the rack
Greeted at dawn with a mortar attack
1st sgt rushes me off to chow
But I don't eat it anyhow

                Hail oh hail oh infantry
                Queen of battle follow me
An airborne rangers life for me
For nothing in this world is free

From a big bird in the sky
All will jump and some will die
Off to battle we will go
Who'll live or die hell I don't know

                Hail oh hail oh infantry
                Queen of battle follow me
An airborne rangers life for me
For nothing in this world is free

Early at night it's drizzling rain
I am hit but feel no pain
But in my heart I have no fear
Because my ranger god is near

                Hail oh hail oh infantry
                Queen of battle follow me
An airborne rangers life for me
For nothing in this world is free

                The mortars and artillery
                The screaming bursts surround me
                Jagged shrapnel on the fly
Kills my buddy makes me cry

                Hail oh hail oh infantry
                Queen of battle follow me
An airborne rangers life for me

"It Is The Soldier" by Charles M. Province, U.S. Army

It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer,
Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the Soldier, not the lawyer,
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the Soldier, who salutes the flag,
                  Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protestor to burn the flag.

Thank you all for your kind words.
                  We served for you.

On a slightly lighter note, please check out these nice piccy's:

Nice. We had 2 wild falcons in tal afar. They lived in the rafters of a hanger. After a few months they would land on people's arms but you had to wear these gloves for handling razor wire cuz the talons were huge and sharp. I forget what they named them but it was bad ass watching em swoop and grab stuff. I had totally forgot about it. The medic had a dog he found and cats were everywhere
