Ok a TV tuner card uh so than like a pci tvtuner card which would have to go between our ps3 and your tv which means your pc needs to close to tv andHere's a list of capture cards and how the concept works (I know it's wiki lol):

ps3 or some long wires (Hdmi, RCA or Svideo ) plus software.
Sounds like a video camera would be easier and cheaper.sigpic

DVD recorders record whatever is on the screen.
It doesn't matter what definition it is in.
The quality of the video depends on how many hours you set the disc up to record for.
1 Hour = The highest quality you can possibly get, but not much time to record.
2 Hours is Standard quality and suffices just fine.
I need to invest in a capture card though because my DVD recorder is too dusty so it won't record anything and my computer won't read DVDs anymore....so Capture Card is the only way I could make movies now.sigpicComment

I understand all of that Blunt. I guess my question is how is everything hooked up? If I have the PS3 connected to the tv via hdmi, then where does the dvd recorder factor in? Where does the dvd recorder receive the video feed from? You know, that's a really good question.
I've never owned a HD TV so I know nothing about it.
Now that I think about it, I don't even know how I would plug my 360 into my DVD recorder if I did have an HD TV.
The way I have it set up now is I have my TV plugged into the back of the Recorder and my 360 is plugged into the Audio/Video in the front.
But there's no Red/Blue/Green outputs on the front.
It has a Component Video Out and an S-Video Out in the back but I have no idea what those are for.sigpicComment

I found this,It shows an xbox but the comments say its the same for ps3.
I have a usb output on my tv so if I can find just a recording program it should work,I also have a 100' usb cable that i use to plug it in.Ill experiment tomarrow
If anyone knows of where i can get or what to get just to record let me know

I use a Dazzle for recording matches. The new inputs let you bypass HDMI through the device and you can get HD records without any hassle. The bad thing is that there is around 6 different varieties on the market with the main differences being utilization of the PC for storage. The bigger and better models will record longer and have a better resolution. I found out the hard way when starting up last yr. I got the cheaper version and it barely functions as a HD recorder lol. I later upgraded but still I wasted some $.
Look up my Youtube name Feedhick1982. There's only one video and it's the SD version but Youtube's HD upscaler works pretty well. My fellow WHs may even get a chuckle out of seeing me attempt to fly muahhhaaaComment
