Skyfire - beta verson of a browser that plays flash vids
Dolphin Browser - best responce on the touchscreen. better than the stock browser
SmartBar - This one is new to me. Does some useful stuff with the statusbar.
Galaxy Wire - You'll get this one ;)
Handcent SMS - The best alternate SMS tool I've seen so far. Uses the LED as a status light and allows you to respond to SMS via the home screen. Just replace the old one though manage applications (so you don't get two notifications from each app)
GRemote Pro - Very cool. Only app I spent money on. It controlls your computer though your wifi connection (booth devices need to be on the same wifi network. You can get the demo for free, so enough to wet the appetite. mobile screen turns into a touch pad mouse and keyboard. Also allows music controll and folder access and more...
TasKiller - (not Task Killer) I like it, but I might be changing it for the SmartBar mentioned above... Better than the one you're using because there are more Widget options.
BatteryLife - Best battery meter widget... Could be getting replaced by SmartBar.
Brightness Toggle Widget - Handy. Might be changing it for SmartBar also though
TuneWiki - Top class music app. You can play you music of course. This will use your internet connection to display the lyrics of the song as it plays also displays album art work. And when you get bored of that you can check out the thousants of Shoutcast radio stations complete with lyrics and art work.... and if for some mad reson you get bored of that you can also see the music vids on youtube through the app as well. Plus is comes with a handy widget!!
Shazam - I think you know this one. Very very good.
Layar - Very smart app. Allows you to scan points of interest. Handy for bus info and all sorts. Needs GPS
      BeamReader - PDF reader
      PayPal - you know this
AppMonster - Easyest way to delete stuff. Lists items in chronological order rather that alphabetical order.
NetCounter - Shows how much data you use
Findagram - ruins the countdown conundrum lol
      Aldiko - Book Reader
SportyPal - one of the best fitness apps (what's with the swimming option though!!)
Gesture Search - Also be sure to get the Gesture Search Bar app
      ZeRadio - Global radio stations
Ethereal Dialpad - You''ll get the buzz
      Sound Grenade - hehehe
imeem Mobile - Clever stuff.... You can upload 20000 tracks and then stream them to your phone via net.
On Off Widgets - There's several APN on off will save you soooo much power. They are the ones form "Curve Fish". I liked those ones the best. Might be replacing them with SmartBar though...
      antivirus - guess....
Lookout - similar to the above. I run the two of them... No bad luck so far
Metal Detector - Useless and magical. I wonder HOW
ASTRO - file manager. One of the best.
Android Lightsabre - A must have for all DSA....
Talkin Tom - Silly, but fun.
      Bubble - Versitile Spirit level
      Compass - compass.
Contact2Sim - you may need it one day.
Google Goggles - clever app. Haven't found a good use for it yet
Google Sky Map - You'll like this one ;)
Hubble Wallpaper - I like it, but is doesn't seem to strech the image to the full screen seize on my phone.
      Kindle - another book reader
Latitude - It's clever, I don't like it though. You might.
ScanLife - Scans all the bar code types
ShopSavvy - scans regular bar codes, but goes a step further by chechin all info about the stuff online. Even compares prices.
      Space Hulk - COOL
      Speed Test - Useful sometimes
Super K.O. Boxing - Impressive. BIG install on it.
Titanium Backup - Some day I may need this. Only one that backs up your apps and the rest...
Where's My Droid - Haven't had to use it. I recommend it.
Zenonia Free - zelda like game.
      AnDrawing - Paint program
Astrid Tasks - better calendar and reminder app.
Space STG - Nice and complicated RTS game.
      Space Physics - very clever.
Antigen - Clever options for customising the controlls. Makes the game well playable on all android phones
AirAttack - Once you get used to the controlls, great game.
NinjaTune - Great if you like stuff from that label
      AirFight - Great fun
AndWobble2 - bouncy tits!!! On any photos ;)
      Cracked Screen - Fools people
Demotivators - Does exactly what is says on the tin
PhoneUsage - handy for keeping track of bills
Pocket BLU - BD Remote. WORKS FOR PS3. It's FREEEEE!!
ThickButtons - Makes typing on a touchscreen easyer
Anti Theft Lite - Sends the number of the bastard that stole your phone to numbers of your choosing. If he was dumb enough to register the number, you can have the police kicking down the door in NO time
EasyTether - Tethering for phones with no tethering support software built in
PhotoFunia - Works well. Fun messing with photos
Alarm Clock Xtreme - VERY good alarm clock. I love the options (including shake your phone to turn off snoose)
      RealPlayer - Good to have
StarStats - great app for people who play Starcraft 2
Death Star Clock - DSA DSA DSA!!

More added just now... And it's all FREE

Few months ago I finally broke down and got a new phone. When the old one was getting spotty on receiving txt msgs and phone calls, figure it was time.
As much as everyone was praising the droid, I really didn't want the same phone as everyone else. Nor did I want to support the new CIA buddy, Google, in anything they do.

So I went for the HTC Touch Pro2, unlocked and running Energy ROM.
However I also have XDA Android Project port installed. So I got the best of both worlds.

I actually prefer having a stylus and access to older RTS games right on my phone, like Age of empires, Starcraft, Warcraft, etc.. As well as good old fashion emulators. Instead of remade crap for easy touch phones.

Good sites for apps and things that Hogezz listed is Mobilism.org or xda-developers.com

I had the Touch Pro 2. That's a pretty good phone except for the fact that it has windows on it. When you first buy a phone it shouldn't crash on you just from starting it up. I also installed the Android project but when it first started out so there still were some issues.

I'm liking the Android phones personally. I do like tons of free apps and I was just invited to play around with App Inventor.

Hooray for Android, I <3 my Droid!

lol, anyway, I just wanted to throw up some suggestions to supplement to Hogezz app list:

360 Live - See online Xbox Live friends, send & receive messages, accept & send friend requests, compare games & achievements. How did noone mention this yet? ;)

LauncherPro - The ultimate customizable launcher replacement, # of home screens, change homescreen softkeys, 2D/3D appdrawer, free version is VERY comprehensive

My Tracks - records your GPS tracks and shows live statistics such as time, speed, distance, and elevation – while hiking, cycling, running, etc., upload to Google maps

RadioTime - more than 30000 radio stations streaming live.

Package Tracker Pro - What it sounds like, always know the status of items you are sending or receiving: FedEx, USPS, UPS, DHL USA/GM/UK, City Link, Royal Mail, Parcelforce, TNT, OnTrac, Canada Post, Purolator, Estafeta, Swiss Post, Aramex, Norway Post, LaserShip

Beautiful Widgets - beautiful set of Widgets containing two skinned clocks + weather widget with forecast and nice weather animations (rain, storm, etc), 230+ skins

Blackmoon Attachsave - A small, on-demand app that will save any Gmail attachment to the SD card and view it from there. Functionality that should have been standard w/ Android, but at least this app fills that void.

Meebo IM - multi-network IM app: AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google Talk, Jabber, and ICQ.

Movies (Flixster) - movie reviews, trailers and showtimes, buy tickets, see upcoming movies, dvds, release dates, movie trailers, etc.

Wireless Tether (if youre phone is rooted) - This program enables wifi AND bluetooth-tethering for "rooted" handsets so you can use your cellular data connection for internet access on your computer/laptop.

Tapatalk - provides super-fast forum access with over 6000 forums activate Tapatalk support - Ratix just installed the server end of this, so darksidealliance.com is covered. =)

Yeah I ain't gonna lie, the stock sucks ass. Never had any crashing issues though But that's not why I got it. I got it for the fact that there are hundreds of cooked ROMs for it. This is the one I'm using now

And the Android project just recently started to make leaps and bounds on the progress. It's about 95% functional, with only small bugs still remaining. Either way, two phones for the price of one. Can't beat that.

Oh, I forgot one of, if not the most useful apps:

Screebl - uses the accelerometer to prevent your scree from timing out while using your phone; may help with battery life as well.
