What is the exact error that is occurring?
Does the shoutbox section display at all?
Does it just show "Loading..."
Does it give any kind of error message?
I use Firefox myself, and have no problems with the shoutbox displaying.
The shoutbox does NOT use flash. It does however use javascript and AJAX features. So it is possible a security setting might be too high in Firefox, or other security program might be blocking something.
If it's stuck on "Loading...." Sometimes that has happened to me as well. Try to press "CTRL+F5" to force a FULL refresh of the page.
You can also try clearing out temp files and cache in Firefox.
Also try what norm suggested. A recently added or updated add-on might be causing a problem. Running Firefox in safe mode, at least once, will help determine if it is in fact an add-on or setting issue. Which I strongly suspect is as it's only happening in FF for you and no one else. If it works in FF Safe mode, start looking at what add-ons where recently added and updated, and disable or uninstall them one by one until you find the culprit.
