    RROD signs?

Is my 360 going to RROD on me soon? Here are some symptons it's currently showing:

1.) When playing Battlefield, the game will flicker at times showing a green background.

2.) When I played the Amalur demo the character sprites stretched abit and the soon dulled out, but this could have been a result of the demo itself.

3.) The Disc tray sometimes does not want to eject or I have to constantly press the eject button for it to finally open up.

4.) System would freeze at times.

Since I don't use it as immensely only on night when we play I worry that it might just die out on me eventually. I should probably get a new one soon right?

Is it an old white one? Or a Slim? Could be the video card. Mine did that too once and I sent it in and they repaired it.

Seems to me that you have early symptoms of an E74 error which is the video card. This is what my old Halo Xbox did before I received the E74 error.

I've had five (5) RRoDs in my time.

All those sound like GPU errors. You might be able to extend the life of it a bit with a power-cleaning. Either use a vaccuum with a narrow tube or an air compressor with a blower attachment. If you've never done it before don't put your face up to the holes, you'll get a blast of dust up the nostrils!

Then again, it could just be your system. 4-5 years is pushing it for most systems nowadays, wii-excluded. Though I hear that a few Wii's got bricked due to the Ethernet card overheating and damaging nearby boards while the system is in Standby.

I feel for you bro. I hope it's not too much a hardship when it comes time to replace it.

It's the good ol white 360. I've had this one since 2009 after my old one died and I wound up waiting a month to get a new one from Microsoft.

Slim xboxs aren't compatible with regular 360 HDDs are they?

Mine had similar symptoms, in the end the video card crapped out and it would only display a blurry green screen. Mine lasted for quite a while after the symptoms started. Usually the RROD starts by the system just randomly locking up on games, then pretty quickly it just goes out all together.

at least that's what happened the three times I got it.

I have a rendezvous with Death, at some disputed barricade. It may be he shall take my hand and lead me into his dark land, and close my eyes and quench my breath, it may be I shall pass him still. I have a rendezvous with Death, on some scarred slope of battered hill. And I to my pledged word am true, I shall not fail that rendezvous.

before your white 360 red rings (if it does) you may want to get a new slim anyway, the hard drives arent compatible but what you can do is start moving stuff over on a flash to have it sitting there waiting for you or just take it to a friends place to move it over afterwards
