Two topics needed help with

Ok so the first topic:

I brought a 1TB harddrive on Newegg lastweek, and it came in yesterday evening. I've been reading around, but none of the info seemed clearcut. I want to basically know how to transfer data from one harddrive to another.
I don't want to go about installing things all over again, because i've already had to do that a lot last year with computer building and what not.
My old HDD is 224GB, and I want to transition everything to the new 1TB HDD. Any help is appreciated


Secondly:

i've been playing Borderlands 2 on the PC, and whenever I play with one particular friend I cannot hear them or their voice stutters. Does this mean that on my end a port is closed and needs to be open to hear them? is my router not allowing the right amount of packets to go through for me to hear them? I can hear others so i'm not sure what is help.

For Question 1,
You would need to make a full image backup (or BMR, Bear Metal Recovery backup) of the current HDD and restore it on the new HDD. Unfortunately the only way to accomplish this with Windows XP/Vista/7 is via 3rd party imaging software. ie. Acronis, Paragon, etc..
Go to TPB (if you don't know what that is, google it) and search for Acronis True Image.
With Acronis True Image I think you can Clone Disk, which transfer the partitions and info form one HDD to another. So you just ave to install the new HDD, boot from CD, and clone it over to the new one.

Question 2,
If it's only 1 friend you're having trouble hearing, it might be a problem on his end. Poor connection, latency, etc..
