    Generic Volume

Alright I've been searching all sorts of forums and have called Sony about this but cannot figure this out. Maybe one of you tech savvy guys could help me out. So here it goes.....

I have a psp, and have been using a video converter for a couple years now without any trouble. Well last week I must have done something to screw things up, because now my video files will not play despite them being what seems to be exactly the same format with all of the same codec. I have reformatted my mem sticks, I have re-downloaded the video converter, even restored my psp to default settings. Still the video does not play.

The thing that I have noticed out of place is a sub device driver on my psp all of a sudden, entitled 'Generic Volume.' It's from microsoft and when I look at the properties and details it says its made by microsoft and located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\Volsnap.sys My psp is located in my E: drive. I try to uninstall it, but it still remains.

Sony can't really help me as I'm using unsupported converter and have never came across this. One thing is clear everything was fine then I messed something up, but I don't know how to trace my steps on a pc. I'm an idiot when it comes to the computer.

If any of you tech masters can maybe help steer me in the right direction or just shed some light on the generic volume device driver, I would love you long time. If not I have to buy their supported 'media manager' and when that doesn't work they're talking about a replacement.

There's a lot of hair pulling going on over here
