Servers Temporarily Down for AOWC Upgrading

Our dedicated server hosting company, ArtofWarCentral.com is currently updating their dedicated box setups to newer hardware. This is the cause for the temp blackout of the servers. Personally I find it inexcusable for any downtime as they promised their customers that the newer servers would be up prior to the olds ones being taken offline to prevent exactly this type of situation.

Either way, I apologize for any inconvenience this causes, but rest assured the servers will be back up soon. Hopefully, but unfortunately the earliest by tomorrow.

Yes I am aware of the changes. I was in contact with Steve Phallen who said that the new servers would be up before hand and overlap with the current one so that there would be no downtime. I take it that this is downtime because of the conversion to the newer servers, which wasn't supposed to be. I never heard anything back on this matter since he last contacted me in Nov. stating he would keep me updated as it progresses.

Well, we're doing some major changes in STL, we emailed everyone about it, only dallas will be able to tell you what's happening.

We have a clan practice tonight, is there any reason that they are down or that it can't be reset tonight? Just curious and looking for what to tell my guys.

I expect to be compensated for this downtime. I had no warning of this, causing me to have a bunch of very unhappy members, who donate for this server, that can not make a practice that was scheduled for tonight. I am already taking a lose in RAM from this switch over as it is. On top of that I have to reconfigure everything that was setup to run on that previous IP address quickly and promptly as soon as the new server comes back online. What was supposed to be an easy transition has now become a nightmare for me.

First, let me say that I was in contact with Steve Phallen back in Nov and everything was supposed to be setup and ready to go. So this is absolutely ridiculous that we have nothing up at the moment.

I do not know if this means that all the data from the previous server was lost or not. If so that means we will have lost all leader board stats and setup. Will also mean some major downtime of the servers as everything will have to be setup form scratch again.
I have sent Steve Phallen (President of AOWC) an email regarding this and his MAJOR ****ing screw up in not having our new server in place.

I will keep everyone posted here with any updates to this cluster****.

Just to update everyone on whats going on with the servers. I have talked with AOWC (www.artofwarcentral.com) and they are acting like little children hiding from a scolding parent. I have called to resolve the issue only to get transferred and disconnected, then told the person in charge was "out to lunch" to begin with when I called back. I called back a third time an hour later to have him only avoid my call altogether with his support staff saying that he was unavailable, despite the fact that he replied to my support ticket only a few minutes earlier.

Unfortunately for the SWBF community and our members, we will be without our servers for some time as this is resolved.

If I had the Computers and the power and be with out my lacking of intellegence I would do the servers my self but alas all I can do is watch your guys with out a server...

They just need to grow up and step up to there job after all thats what there hired for to Make the user (being you guys) happy.. Not good for there name.

They are finally setting up the new server. Unfortunately the leaderboards will be non functional for a few weeks or restarted from scratch. All depends on whether or not AOWC can retrieve the data from the old server. At the very least we should have our servers back up in a day or two.. Hopefully.
