After hearing numerous comments about connection issues from our PS3 guys I was wondering if it's a similar problem that the 360 guys were having when they first started playing. The infamous NAT settings. A quick search on google and found that apparently there is an NAT setting that needs to be properly configured at Type 2. This requires opening needed ports on the router for your PS3.
All PS3 players, if they have not done so already, should take a moment to check this setting and ensure that it is set at NAT Type 1 or Type 2. Here is a guide I found on the ports that need to be opened in the router for NAT type 2.
While I am unfamiliar with the PS3, I do know networking and can help walk anyone through the steps that may need it.
For those experienced, here are the ports needed.
TCP: 80, 443, 5223
UDP: 3478, 3479, 3658
Any DSA PS3 division member needs to check this ASAP and before attending their next practice. Especially those having issues with CoD4. Many intermittent problems like communication issues, disconnections in game, and various other errors maybe a result of this not being properly configured.
