    Problem with PS3 DNS error.

    Been having this issue intermittently.

I use TWC/Road Runner, but the issue started about 2 weeks ago, so I figure there was either a change to TWC's DNS or Sony changed something in the latest firmware, because I NEVER had this issue before then and get it constantly.

A workaround: Put your network settings as Manual, and then select everything automatic EXCEPT DNS servers. Pick two:

    4.2.2.1
    4.2.2.2
    4.2.2.3
    4.2.2.4
    4.2.2.5
    4.2.2.6

I found out that these are Level 3's (a Verizon CLEC) DNS servers and should be cool.

Seems to have resolved my issue, but I'll keep you guys posted.

I was having DNS errors for awhile too but they seemed to have stopped now since the cable company gave me a brand new modem.

connection last night in socom could get back in because of DNS.Which I reset modem
PS3 kept trying and finally got it.I called TW to see if they could give the DNS address
so I could set it myself rather then set to auto and they couldn't give me one, said
they don't use DNS servers WTF,don't understand. Keyser I will have to try your

I had the same problem, would take me 10-15 minutes to get on, plus I'd have to run connection test after connection test in the "network settings" menu.

I did hardset all IP info, including the DNS servers (TW's) and still had the issue... but since I've tried this I've rebooted about a half dozen times and NEVER have had DNS error again.

Problem is gone. It is definitely TWC's DNS server config.

Use those above and set everything else to auto and you'll be fixed.

No problem. Glad I could help on this one... I may need to change the heading in case some 360 guys are having DNS issues as well...
