So my mw2 disc keeps getting disc read errors. I have read that is a sign my disc drive is about to fail. So I will need a new 360 at some point soon. It's been almost four years now, so no warranty--and I had a RROD prob once and got it back in 2.5 weeks. So if I have to get a new one, I'll prob go elite since I only have a 20 gig drive. How do I transfer the file saves? I would prefer to buy it on amazon, but then there isn't the customer service that helps with a transfer. What's the best way to handle this when the 360 is laid to rest.

Zab the best way to do this is prolly to get a data transfer kit off ebay. You should be able to get it pretty cheap with the required cd(i think its required). Then when you're done you can sell it back on ebay. -
Send a PM to Blunt. I gave him my cable to use. Hopefully you didn't bid already. You can keep it as long as you need."F--k Ron Paul!" -Gino in the heat of a losing battle; COD4; Crash.Comment

I hope that you get this problem fixed soon and your 360 doesn't take a crap on you.

I have had it for four years. I think my first ps2 lasted 3. I have no problems if it craps out at this point. Interestingly, I haven't had a disc read problem in days--despite playing a lot of mw2.
Come to think of it, didn't the orig ps2's have a disc read problem after a couple years. I recall having to open mine up to get to the laser and turning a little wheel to get the laser closer to the disc. On the third time I did this, I accidentally separated a wire that was too hard to fix so I got the slim.
I wonder if something similar can be done on the 360.You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!
