Slow Response from TV

I finally got a new TV. However i have ran into some issues while gaming. i noticed that when i move my controller it has a delayed reaction to it. Its not much but enough that its too difficult to play MW2. I am quite frustrated as I'm just a sitting target on the battlefield. I do have HDMI hook=up o a 55" Samsung 8500 series LED flat screen

Until I get it fixed I won't be able to get on.

sounds like you need to reset up your 360 to match the new tv. Also you may have to reset up MW2 to fit your tv.

Also you may want to check out the firmware of the tv. While you're at it look at the settings of the tv to see if there's any odd settings that would interfere with gaming. Here is the AVS thread about the 8500

I have a Samsung and I remember going from my old tv to the new tv and I thought there was a difference in shot detection. It turns out I had to reset up the 360 to match the TV and from there I had to relearn how to play. I don't believe there was a shot detection problem, but more of a everything is now clear and my eye was focusing on the details that used to miss so now I was a half second slower shooting everytime..lol


I hope that helps. It might just be something as simple as resetting up the 360 and game. Also getting used to the input time from your old tv to the new tv. Try the 360 and game fixes first and see if that helps.

On the new TV's there is an option to adjust the delay on the audio and video. I bought 2 new ones and both had to be set to different delays in order for the video and sound to sync up properly.

Also I know some games like rockband have a feature that will sync the game to the tv.

Thanks norm, however my transmission just broke on my car and you gave my an instructions book to fix it. I'm not a mechanic. How do I set my XBOX to my T.V.? If you are refering to going to console setting and display then I already did that. If there is some other screen to calibrate then i may need some help

okay so you are using HDMI?

In your xbox are you setting the 360 to 1080 setting? If so which version of 1080 are you using? 1080i or 1080p? Make sure it's the same one your TV uses. While in there go through the settings and try different ones to match the TV

If the TV is set to extended view the 360 should be set to the same thing.

Once you get done with that there's an option for you to have the 360 change the settings each time you turn it on. I usually disable that. It seems the tv keeps trying to change the 360 to something else and it annoys me.


With the game. I'm not sure. I remember when I first put MW2 in the game made me go through a set up, is this gray okay, does the screen meet the edges and so forth. You need to find that in MW2 and rerun it. I'm guessing it'll be in options.

Another thing you can do after that is try a couple of other games out and see how they do? Did you try MW2 in single player and get the same lag?

Also Samsung has a couple of options like motion and game that you can turn on and off. I would play with the motion stuff off. That's for watching a movie. The game thing, I would try it with it on and with it off.

3. Try single player for MW2 and see how it does. Also try other games to see if you have the ame input lag.

4. Check the TV settings for the motion and game features. Turn off motion and try game to see if it helps.

5. Give your eye and reflexs time to adjust going to a larger screen and to HD.

I am at 1080p. I played COD4 and the same effects. Single player and multiplayer are same effects. i tried it on my other 30" SONY t.v. and no effects. Its perfectly fine. turned motion off and same effects.

I once tried to hook my DVD recorder up to record gameplay and had the same effects which is why I stoppeddoin it. I thought it was maybe the longconnection through the recorder, xbox and T.V. were giving me that laggy movement feeling. I tried playing COD4 and couldn't get through doors cause I would over shoot them.

Prob too obvious, but samsung normally has a game mode for it's display settings. You have set that up, right? Maybe the newest ones dint but they did for a long time.

That's what it is, Norm came online to help me out. Thanks everyone. Under "Settings" There was an option that said "Game Mode" The quality of the graphics went down as the warning stated a bit but I care less.

worse thing about it, was i went through that menu 5 times and didn't realize it.
