Thanks Chahta. I spoke with Zabka, Solo, and CaptainJeter last night and each of them were excited about running a game night on a Saturday. We just need to nail down which Saturday works best for everyone. Also, Solo stated that we could possibly get some other old school folks to join such as Eagle and DarthMikey. First pass is to have an old guys against the new guys in a S&D match.

I will only agree to my presence if I am able to form said team of vets and train for at least 1-2 weeks solid with no work or other responsibilities prior to said scrimmage. If other vets mentioned feel they have said skills to pay the bills, then I stand down as I haven't played anywhere near enough for me to justify the backs of the vets carrying me. I know there are others better equipped and better played on this game then me at this point. But I know the vets understand the pressure this puts on them, and what I expect to see. No help and no pressure. lol. GL

Understood, my Emperor. With that being said, I humbly agree to your request. Let's set up some time between now and the next three weeks that we (vets) have pratice sessions on Saturdays (or a day of your choosing) to better prepare ourselves for this event. I would assume that it would take us about 3 weeks to gather ourselves in a capacity to compete against the new guys. What say you?

Well my point was more, "Don't wait around for me b/c I haven't played that much and mostly likely will suck". lol. There are others that have been a lot more active in this game, that would probably be better picks. So if you wanted to do one sooner than later, go for it. I'll make the 2nd one, because I'm sure either way it goes, one team will want one, lol. Maybe it's becomes the new monthly squad matches? We'll see.

RegentOne why don't we just schedule a Saturday night DSA vet night, just so you guys can get together and delegate what you guys wana do. Wouldn't hurt! And for RaTix you know its just gona be a private match, so get out of here with that "I'm not good" . Lmao

It might be a private match, but it's still a match right? And I'm pretty sure winning team will want bragging rights and all that. So why not make sure our best and most active are in it from the OG side?

Maybe not hardcore S@D because that is mostly what the new guys play. I don't think there is any way that us old guys could get enough practice to keep up and not get embarrassed. We still need to discuss with the rest of the old guys on what they would like as a match. I would assume something like TDM or KC. There are only a few of us old guys that play on a somewhat daily basis. I've already mentioned the match to Solo, CaptainJeter, DarthMikey, Zabka, and EagleOne. We just haven't nailed down when and what mode.

Maybe just set it up as a weekly or bi-weekly game night to start. Not like an official match with set maps and rounds and all that, but just a random mix of Dom/SnD of Rooks vs Vets. Something like that I would be down for.
Personally I don't like SnD, or have to be in the mood for it. It's more Socom style play then COD/BF in my head. If enough ppl on we could even do a private Ground War (if that is a thing). That would be ideal DSA team mode to do.

We should also think about Muncher and Jeter as guys who are playing regularly. But to be honest, some of our vets are good enough in the game to hang with lots of the new guys, but some of us are still a notch or two below...not sure how that gets fixed in most COD games (unlike old SWBF where tactics could make up a lot) due to spawns and the kill streaks. I would put myself in that second tier--I can play really well at times, and other times horribly. More often than not, I will end up closer to 1.0 KDR but with way less kills than Solo or Mikey or newer guys like Dino, Ranger, etc.

While old vs new seems like a fun idea, I think it would be good to also consider mixing them up and having some of the tactical considerations considered for the new guys to get used to. It would be like the squad set up with a scrimmage setup. But leading up to that, the squad can focus on how they want to set up. They can focus on the choke points, kill streaks, other supports that they want to get things working. I think it could make a lot of sense--esp if you make it one or two maps per match---so they can work on the approach.

I agree. There is a some great training and cross training ideas here. There should be a fun night thing, but also plan for maybe a monthly, or Quarterly match between rooks and vets. Do it with maps and teams picked out, and let them train all month or quarter (Season?) for that battle.

I want to express this though, that it should be a mix of modes, to force ppl out of there comfort zones. The old school can help show these rooks how Dom is done, and they can help our old asses (except the PS Socom players that already know how that mode works) on how SnD works. lol

I have a longer rant I want to make about ppl that complain about modes, and how that is not DSA, and you can attest to any vets here that I will put a new game on nightmare setting if they allow me. "Adapt and Overcome" ("Improvise, Adapt and Overcome?). Regardless the challenge you are presented, as a DSA, you confront it. You might shoot him and he doesn't die, but you press the fuck on. If you are gonna lose, loss with some dignity and always fight to the last second. B/C you never know when a miracle might happen, or the enemy slips up and creates an opening. You push on. No matter the battlefield, the DSA will meet all challenges.

It's okay if ppl have their strengths and weaknesses, or favorites and non. We can help each other in all situations and modes, but pushing each other.

But you can only help those that want it. So .. where do you fall?

We need to pick a day and time. Looking at game nights already scheduled, we could do a Wednesday or Saturday and I would suggest sometime between 9 and 10 start time. Please respond with which day/time. Let's have a setup that would include multiple types of set ups that are private and detailed below:

Map Selections would be formulated during the practice.
1. Learn a couple of the maps for guys that do not play that often where we address choke points and weapon selections/loadouts etc.
2. Mix up the teams with new and old DSA members and play some different modes such as Kill Confirmed, Team Death Match, and Head Quarters.
3. Lastly have a fun map where we all have to use Shields, knifes, and throwing knifes. Vets vs New guys.

Reg, I’m getting laid off today from the nuclear plant so my time is going to be wide open until I return for work in October. I’m flexible at this point.
